Velotine's started off with a smashing success last Friday, Feb. 6th at Lent Elementary.  Around 50 kids came out to show their love of bicycles by decorating cookie wheels, dressing up their bicycles, and making Velotine's cards for their bicycles and their friends that ride.  A local police officer even stopped by to give away 30 helmets to the kids…30!  Thanks to help from SUN, and volunteers, about 15 bikes were fixed at the event.  It's good to know those kids are going to start their spring off right with a freshly-working bicycle.

If you missed the first event – don't worry!  We are spreading the love all month long with three more events coming up.  This Saturday, Feb. 14th from 12 pm-2 pm we will be at the Peninsula Park Community Center.  Then onto Montavilla Community Center on Sunday, Feb. 22nd from 2:30 pm-4:30 pm.  And finally the last event will be at lovely Sunnyside Elementary on Friday, Feb. 27th from 3:30 pm-5:30 pm.  Come and give your bike some love!  Fix your flat, adjust your brakes.  Done for free for Velo's sakes!
