Bike lanes and sidewalks on Scholls Ferry Road?

Multnomah County is holding the first public meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) evening on the future of Scholls Ferry Road from Highway 26 to the Washington County line (near Raleighwood). The big question in this planning process, which is sponsored by the County, is how to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety and comfort in the corridor.
If this is a route that matters to you, please attend!
Scholls Ferry Road Streetscape Design Plan
Tuesday, January 13th
6:00 - 8:00 pm
Bridlemile Elementary School
4300 SW 47th Drive
To improve biking and walking conditions, planners will consider widening the road to construct bike lanes and sidewalks (though steep slopes make widening more difficult) or providing facilities on nearby streets instead.
Tuesday's meeting will cover existing conditions on Scholls Ferry Road and alternative solutions. A brief presentation will begin at 6:15 pm followed by a roundtable discussion of the various design options. At the next meeting, tentatively scheduled for April, public input will be sought on a preferred conceptual design.
