Rose Quarter thank-you-notes

Here's a note from former BTA Metro-Area Advocate Jessica Roberts:
"When I worked at the BTA, we worked on the Blueprint for Better Biking, a list of the 40 highest-priority bicycle projects for the Portland Metro Region. My personal #1 project was the
Rose Quarter Transit Center gap. With the city's most popular bike lanes to the north and the most popular off-street pathway to the south, and no reasonable alternative route, the Rose Quarter was a black eye on our supposed bike-friendly status.
Thanks to the BTA's hard work, and full partnership from TriMet and the Portland Office of Transportation, YOU can now bike right through the Rose Quarter Transit Center, all the way from the Esplanade to Vancouver. I always said that if we ever actually solved the Rose Quarter I'd personally host a party to write thank-you notes, so here's my chance.
Please join me next Monday, October 20th, at the Hawthorne Lucky Lab at 5:30 pm for a thank-you note writing party. I'll bring the giant novelty cards and the felt-tip pens; you should just bring your stories about how much this fix means to you. I'll see that your notes get delivered to TriMet, PDOT, and Sam Adams. If you have questions or some arty skill to contribute let me know by emailing me at jessicaroberts [at] altaplanning [dot] com.
-Jessica"
Hope to see you there!

What a fantastic idea for a party! I can't believe I never thought of it. Brilliant Jessica! Absolutely brilliant. And thank you for a great idea!
P.S. And thank you Michelle for posting it.
My momma raised me right…you write thank you notes when someone does you a big favor. And I would describe this as a monstrously huge favor!
Nice thought.
