What's Oregon Manifest?

This is going to be a big weekend and I don't want anybody to miss out on it.
Last year, I tagged along with some Portland framebuilders who wanted to put on an event to showcase their craft. The result was the Oregon Bicycle Constructors Association (OBCA)'s Oregon Handmade Bike Show. It was just one day long and you could hardly breathe because it was so jam packed with people.

We realized we had a good thing going, so this year we're doing it bigger and better. We're incorporating a lot of the ideas we only dreamed about last year and we're calling it Oregon Manifest. I won't give away all of the fun and surprises, but here's what to expect:
- Friday and Saturday: a spectacular handmade bike show at the Leftbank Greenroom (N Vancouver & N Broadway). 10am – 7pm. $10 Free valet bike parking provided.
- Friday night: a blowout opening party at Wieden + Kennedy (224 NW 13th) featuring screenings of Filmed by Bike classics. 8pm – midnight. FREE (followed by a Midnight Mystery Ride)
- Saturday night: action-packed Roller Races sponsored by Rapha at the Leftbank Building (N Vancouver & N Broadway). 8pm – midnightish. Free valety bike parking provided. 21+ $10
- Sunday: Oregon Manifest Cyclecross Spectacular at Villebois in Wilsonville. 8am-6pm. $22 to race.
It's a busy schedule.
Check out the Oregon Manifest website for more colorful details.
A couple notes:
- The Leftbank Building and Leftbank Greenroom are in a nasty area for biking. Sorry. Just be careful and watch out for one-ways and I-5 traffic.
- There will be free valet bike parking at the show (and the roller races) but if you ride a handmade custom bike, there will be exclusive, high-visibility, non-valet bike parking for your steed should you choose to use it.
- This isn't just about handmade bikes. There'll be tool-makers, clothiers, and lotsa good local beer on hand, too.
See you at the show!
