Transit Police will focus on Rose Quarter this month

As I've said before, the Rose Quarter just got worse before it's going to get better in September.
Closure of the Steel Bridge means shuttle buses will be using NE Wheeler this month, which means bicyclists should use the legal route around the transit center (from the Esplanade head northwest on Interstate, right onto Multnomah, and then left onto Wheeler). It also means far more people will be walking across the Steel Bridge, so expect to bike that section very slowly.
Transit police will be out there today (Tuesday) and for the rest of the month reminding bicyclists that riding straight up NE Wheeler (between Interstate and Multnomah) is still illegal.
In September, of course, the Rose Quarter Transit Center will become open to bikes! But it isn't September yet, so for the next three weeks, particularly at rush hour, be extra careful and go around.
