Parkrose Bike Ride for Education

Tomorrow is the 2nd annual Parkrose Bike Ride for Education. It starts and ends at Park Rose Middle School, with several different length rides, between 8am and 1pm. This ride is a fund raiser for all the schools in the Parkrose School District. This year and last, the BTA has loaned out bikes to those riders who don't have one. So I be out there tomorrow morning passing out bikes for use during the ride. If you are in the neighborhood, drop by. I'll be the one wearing all of my winter clothes and (hopefully) drinking some coffee!
And while you're exploring Parkrose, keep a look out for some Safe Routes signs. The students at Prescott Elementary have been diligently delivering them to neighbors for the past few months and have seen signs appear in the windows and yards of homes all around the school. Do the signs convey to you that students use these roads? Do they make you think twice before zipping down the street? We hope so. Delivering these signs has also been a great way for students to meet their school's neighbors. Parkrose is continuing to build community through bike rides and safety campaigns. What is your neighborhood doing?
