CRC Openhouses- Speak Up for Biking and Walking to Vancouver
Posted by: EmilyOct 06 2007, 10:13 am
This project seeks to solve congestion, mobility, and safety issues on a 5-mile segment of I-5 from SR 500 in Vancouver to Columbia Blvd in Portland, including the I-5 Bridge.
There are several open houses coming up this month where folks are invited to get caught up on the status of the project, and provide input on the project overall. For cyclists, the open houses may prove difficult, given that they are scheduled on Hayden Island or in Vancouver. We have requested that the CRC staff visit the a PBAC meeting in the future and will continue to pursue that request.
The next Task Force meeting is in November. It’s not clear yet what will be on the agenda, but it’s possible that the bicycle and pedestrian recommendations will be considered at that meeting. Just to be safe, mark your calendar now and attend if you can to speak up for a “world-class†bicycling facility.
