BTA Executive Director Transition Update

As the BTA is undergoing a transition in leadership, I thought it would be a good time to let the community know what the Board of Directors is up to.
We invited Scott Bricker to serve as interim Executive Director because of his experience with the BTA and his many contributions, and we're quite confident that he's going to do an excellent job in this new role. As we initiate a nationwide search for a new permanent Executive Director, we're also quite confident that he'll be a highly qualified and competitive candidate. So why go through a national search when we have such a great candidate "in our own back yard"? A competitive search process serves two major purposes: First it ensures that we have the best possible candidate as our permanent ED – that's something we want to do for our members, our staff, our partners in government and business, and the bicycling community in general. And second, a competitive process benefits the individual who is ultimately hired for the permanent position – they know that they *are* the best candidate, one who got the job based on their qualifications and not just because they were in our own back yard.
Thanks for your continued support,
Hugh Bynum, BTA Board Chair

Is the Executive Director position still open? If not please review my web site and please let me know how else I might be of service?
