New Seasons delivers Meals on [Bicycle] Wheels

As part of the upcoming Bike Commute Challenge, the New Seasons Arbor Lodge store (they won their category in 2006) has launched a "Meals on Bike Wheels" delivery program [correction! The Concordia store started the program, and Arbor Lodge is just working now to imitate their success. Sorry about the error.].
They bought two flat bed Burley trailers, two coolers, and are delivering meals to the elderly by bike. Staff members volunteer to do it, and are enjoying it enough that they plan to do it through the winter!
This is something I've been hoping to see (or to organize myself) for a while and I am THRILLED and not a little impressed that New Seasons Arbor Lodge has taken it on. This is great community leadership at work.
If your workplace does regular team volunteering, or if you know people who do Meals on Wheels routes that are short enough to do them by bike, try it out!

Synchronicity?
This is very cool! I remember reading in the past that rising gas prices were making it hard for Meals on Wheels to find volunteers to deliver meals. Yay for bikers finding a more sustainable solution & it is nice to see New Seasons being a good business example.
The New Seasons Market-Concordia store is already participating in "Meals on Wheel" by Bike. The Arbor Lodge store will soon be the second NSM store to participate in this program starting in September.
ho HO! Sorry for the misinformation. That is awesome. Will New Seasons ever need volunteer help from neighbors for these things? I wouldn't be surprised if people wanted to help.
