Come testify in support of SB 926 that would create funding for the construction of two new velodromes, one in “Northern†and one in “Southern†Oregon. The bill’s lead sponsor Senator Jason Atkinson is a bicycle enthusiast and racer and pushing to increase Oregon’s profile as the best place to race a bike.

The Portland Velodrome Project — a strong partnership of Portland area racers — is trying to build a new track to replace an aging Alpenrose Velodrome and is a key supporter of this bill.
The BTA strongly supports this effort as a way to continue to increase the energy of increasing bicycle tourism, racing, and culture in Oregon as a way to increase overall support for and use of bicycles.
The bill will be heard by the Senate Environment and Natural Resources committee on Thursday April 29th in the Oregon State Capitol, Hearing Room B.
Read a copy of the bill.
