Botswana BikeTown

Bikes aren't just for us in Oregon, or the United States. While Jon Stewart recently credited Floyd Landis' Tour win to: "Americans do not chafe," bikes are being used to help rural Botswana residents with their health care needs.
Bicycling magazine has a program called BikeTown — a program that believes in the power of bicycles to revolutionize our lives. We believe it too. They recently went beyond the U.S. and brought 200 Kona bicycles to Botswana. The bikes were specifically designed for the terrain and use, and lack of maintenance shops, and are being used by home health care workers to reach HIV-positive patients. One doctor says "we know that bikes can go where other things can't."
