Membership Assistant

The Membership Assistant will support the Bicycle Transportation Alliance’s fundraising, marketing, communications, and administrative programs.

Salary

$9 to $13/hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health and dental, retirement, generous vacation, flex Mondays.

Job Duties

The Membership Assistant will be actively involved in all aspects of fundraising, marketing, communications, and administrative programs.  Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the membership, individual, major donor, corporate, and foundation giving programs.
  • Accurate data entry and prompt donor acknowledgement.
  • Assisting with various print design and production needs.
  • Tracking and reporting performance of various fundraising programs.
  • Event coordination, including securing appropriate venues and refreshments, coordinating with guest speakers, issuing invitations, and tracking RSVPs.
  • Volunteer coordination that guarantees fundraising goals are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, write clearly and fluently, manage many tasks at one time, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with coordinating a donor stewardship program.
  • Customer-service experience.
  • Excellent computer skills; preference given to candidates familiar with working in a Mac environment.
  • Experience using complex databases; preference given to candidates with knowledge of FileMaker.
  • A sense of humor and the ability to work as a part of a team.
  • A strong belief in the benefits of bicycling for the environment, public health, and community livability.
